Pastor Gary Hamrick Biography
Pastor Gary Hamrick is a dedicated spiritual leader from Virginia who has devoted much of his life to serving the Lord. Born and raised in Virginia by Christian parents, he is the son of Eugene Hamrick and the grandson of the late Carl Hamilton Hamrick and Marjorie Marie Huffman Hamrick. His uncle, Rev. Kenneth Carl Hamrick, also served as a church pastor.
Gary’s ministry journey began in his teenage years when he felt a calling to serve. He initially studied Broadcast Journalism at The American University but later shifted paths to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies. He was ordained by Pastor Chuck Smith of the Calvary Chapel Association.
In 1987, Gary became a full-time Youth Pastor, working with high school teenagers nationwide. In 1991, he joined Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia, where the 18 charter members asked him to be the church’s first pastor. Since then, he has led the congregation with dedication, teaching God’s Word. He also hosts the radio show Cornerstone Connection, broadcast in 27 states.
Gary’s personal and professional lives are deeply connected. He has been married to fellow pastor and church leader Terri Hamrick since 1987. They have three adult children and five grandchildren.
